The Joy of Cooking

An amazing thing happened this week. Last Saturday Erin and I went grocery shopping, which is not unusual. We bought what we thought was enough food for a week or so, and left the store. Now, what usually happens when we do that is we don’t go to the store for 3 or more weeks because we just don’t eat at home. Usually perishable foods end up.. uh, perishing, while we continue to subsist on cans of Campbell’s Chunky and Hamburger Helper. As I sit here typing though I am eating leftover pot roast and contemplating the fact that all of the meats (barring ground beef) and vegetables we bought one week ago have now been consumed. More amazingly still, all of the breakfast food we bought last week is gone. Finally, we’ve now emptied two consecutive cartons of milk without it going bad. Awesome. Next week I’ll be buying the necessary ingredients for Mom’s Turkey Rice Soup and Merlot Flank Steak. Good luck to me.

  1. One other thing: I think I’m gonna get drunko tonight. One voda red bull down, five to go. Then it’s gimlet time. More inf as it becomes available.

  2. Attention world: I am starting to feel drunko. I’m not sure, but maybe it’s because my first drink contained 3-4 shots of vodka. i dunno. maybe.
